Privacy Policy

PreviewDXF is a native viewer for DXF drawings on macOS, with Quick Look previews and Finder thumbnails for DXF and DWG files. It is built to run entirely on your Mac. PreviewDXF does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.

Your drawings

The drawings you open stay on your Mac. They are read, rendered, measured, printed and exported locally. PreviewDXF never uploads your files or their contents anywhere, and it never changes the file you opened — an export is written only to a new file you pick yourself.

The Quick Look and thumbnail extensions read a drawing only when the Finder asks them for a picture of it, and hand that picture back to macOS. For a DWG file they show the preview image the CAD program stored inside it.

No tracking

The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or user accounts. It does not build a profile of you and does not use cookies.

No network access

PreviewDXF does not hold the network entitlement, so macOS does not let it connect to anything. It never contacts our servers, and there is nothing for it to send.

Files the app can reach

PreviewDXF runs in Apple's App Sandbox. It can read the files you open and write the files you export or print to PDF, and nothing else. The Quick Look and thumbnail extensions can only read.

This website

The website at previewdxf.xfanta.com uses privacy-friendly, cookieless Vercel Analytics to count aggregate page views. It does not identify individual visitors.

The App Store

PreviewDXF is distributed through the App Store. Downloads and any associated account information are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never see it.
